There are around 130 u3as, some large, some very small, a number of them also come together to meet with other local u3as in one of 14 Networks where they can share ideas, can help each other solve problems and can organise joint activities.
The u3a is a large organisation that enables anyone in any part of the country, to start or join a group of like minded people, to enjoy a shared experience, whether it's playing bridge, going for walks or just meeting up for a chat. The opportunities are endless.
While most members no longer work full-time, they come together for fun things to do.
there is NO age limit for membership.
